The Visit Was Going Great at the Gingerbread House Until She Got Lost at the Omaha Zoo

After a wonderful time in Little Rock, Arkansas and lots of wonderful eating, Flat Ruthie travels to Omaha, Nebraska
J writes from Omaha-
Ruthie arrives at her dear friend’s home just as she was sweeping the walk.  Tasty home you have J.
Pasta al Forno is on the menu for tonight.  Ruthie had recommended this recipe from chef Jamie Oliver and it has become a favorite of J’s son Chris who makes it at his frat house.
  Ruthie is a believer!
Ruthie has a Violet Fizz.  J’s daughter Anna gave her a lovely gift …. a purple pop-up card promising a girl’s night with movies and a Violet Fizz cocktail. She added a beautiful bottle of Creme de Violette.  Ruthie was fortunate to be there for the event, and see the beautiful lavender color of the cocktails.  We should have watched “Ladies in Lavender” but we watched “Finding Forrester” instead.
Ruthie got to enjoy tourtiere night at J’s house on Boxing Day.  They usually have tourtiere on Christmas Eve but another event conflicted, so Boxing Day it was.  Tourtiere and cornichons and salad, followed by fruit cake cookies and cappuccino flats.
Now is when the Midwest adventure really begins for Ruthie
J’s son Chris and his girlfriend and family took Ruthie to the Omaha Zoo for the day.
It was a beautiful day visiting this nationally renowned zoo.  It features the largest cat complex in North America, the world’s largest nocturnal exhibit and indoor swamp, one of the world’s largest indoor rainforest, and the “Desert Dome” is the world’s largest indoor desert as well as the largest glazed geodesic dome in the world!
Ruthie is about to head into the Desert Dome to check it out.
So here ends Ruthie’s visit with J because, upon leaving the zoo Chris realized that Flat Ruthie was no longer in his pocket!  They could not go look for her because the zoo had just closed!  Where oh where is Ruthie now?  Lied Jungle?  Desert Dome?  Kingdoms of the Night? Aquarium?  Cat Complex?  Gorilla Valley?  Orangutan Forest?  Did someone pick her up and take her on adventures of their own?  Will they send photos?
