This just in from the guest blogger in Independence Missouri.
Being back to school and the classroom, it seems good timing.
The New Year’s festivities winding down and getting serious now. Sort of……
Theresa of Thirdhandart blog says-
“I took these photos of Flat Ruthie at the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum.
My WordPress post today is about our visit to the Truman Library.
I thought since Flat Ruthie was a teacher/photographer that she might enjoy the Truman Library and the current exhibit which is called “The President’s Photographer: Fifty Years Inside the Oval Office.” It features photographs of US presidents from 1963 to 2011. Info here: http://www.trumanlibrary.org/exhibits.htm“
Q: What does the S stand for in Harry Truman’s name? answer below the photographs
A: The S is just that- an S. Not a middle name. Both his grandfathers had names that started with S so just the initial is a compromise according to this info click here
And a note from Real Ruthie
*In the Art Room we study a painting The Sources of Country Music by Thomas Hart Benton so it was fun to be included in those photos about the artist.
*Real Ruthie was born on Independence Day.
*Real Ruthie visited Independence Missouri and the Truman Library and the Truman home about 25 years ago.
And for anyone who reads all the way down to the bottom of this post.
Guess who was president when Real Ruthie was born?
Yes, you got it. President Harry S Truman.
The Life Magazine pictured is just a few months older than the Real Ruthie.
Thanks Theresa for the wonderful tour.

This is fun, Ruth … and Flat Ruthie! Love the LIFE Cover with young Elizabeth who is going to celebrate her Jubilee, 60th, this summer during the Olympics. My parents subscribed to Life so I know we got this Issue!!!

I feel educated
I love the clever positioning of Flat Ruthie in all the photos.
I feel like I’m going on a new adventure with your posts. What a clever idea this was. Can’t wait to see what comes next.
These shots are great! Kudos to Theresa!
I don’t want to ruin any surprises, but you sure like presidential museums!
Well, hope I am not driving.
